CEO’s Message

Omantel's performance in 2025 reflects the resilience of our domestic operations and the strength of our regional scale through Zain Group. We delivered solid growth in the Fixed segment and continued to expand and unify our ICT portfolio to strengthen execution across cloud, cybersecurity, and national digital infrastructure.

Omantel’s performance in 2025 reflects the resilience of our domestic operations and the strength of our regional scale through Zain Group. Throughout the year, we continued to reinforce our leadership in Oman while advancing our transformation into a technology-enabled digital partner supporting the Sultanate’s digital ambitions.

Our domestic operations maintained solid momentum, supported by sustained demand for connectivity and digital services. Total subscribers increased by 6.3% year-on-year to reach 3.7 million by December 2025, driven by strong customer retention and continued migration to higher-value plans across both mobile and fixed segments. In mobile services, Omantel maintained its leadership position with a market share of 40.2%, supported by the continued expansion of machine-to-machine (M2M) connections, which surpassed one million during the year, reflecting growing demand for smart and connected solutions.

In fixed broadband services, Omantel retained a leading market share of 55%, with subscriber numbers increasing to 329,300. This growth was supported by expanding fiber coverage and increased customer adoption of higher-tier fiber packages, contributing to improved ARPU and enhanced service quality.

Beyond connectivity, we continued to strengthen our position in ICT and emerging technologies, reflecting our strategy to scale new digital growth engines. During the year, we further unified our enterprise solutions portfolio and expanded our capabilities across cloud, hosting, cybersecurity, and smart solutions. This momentum was reinforced through the establishment of Otech, our unified technology platform designed to consolidate and scale Omantel’s ICT capabilities and support the growing demand for national digital infrastructure.

Our digital platforms also continued to gain traction. The Omantel Customer Experience Platform expanded significantly, with the digital user base reaching 1.89 million customers, supported by increased transaction activity and the expansion of digital services across travel, entertainment, and bill payments. In parallel, OmPay strengthened its fintech ecosystem with the launch of a new digital wallet, the expansion of international remittance services across 60 corridors, and the introduction of virtual and physical payment cards.

At the Group level, our diversified portfolio continued to deliver value. Zain Group maintained strong double-digit growth across several markets, while our Zain Omantel International (ZOI) joint venture continued to strengthen its role in international wholesale connectivity and digital infrastructure.

Our financial standing was further reinforced during the year following Fitch Ratings’ upgrade of Omantel to investment grade (BBB-) with a Stable Outlook, reflecting the Company’s solid financial profile and disciplined capital allocation strategy.

During the year, we continued to invest in strengthening our network and digital infrastructure. Capital expenditure reached X129.3 Mn., primarily focused on accelerating the rollout of 5G services, expanding fiber infrastructure, and supporting digital platform development. These investments remain central to our long-term strategy of enabling advanced connectivity and supporting Oman’s digital economy.

As Oman’s trusted digital partner, we remain committed to expanding connectivity and enabling innovation across sectors. Rapid advancements in artificial intelligence, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and the Internet of Things continue to reshape the global digital landscape, and Omantel is well positioned to deliver secure, scalable, and future-ready digital solutions that support Oman’s digital sovereignty and strengthen its standing in the global digital economy.

Looking ahead to 2026, we will build on this momentum with the launch of Otech, our unified technology platform bringing together Oman Data Park and Tadoom to consolidate our ICT capabilities and accelerate digital innovation across the Sultanate.
